Business Terms: Important if you are ordering

1.Guarantee. All plants are guaranteed for one year from the date of despatch. To ensure that failures are replaced you should notify our office, in writing, no later than 31st July in the summer following delivery. This guarantee covers the replacement of any failed rose with a rose identical to the variety of the failed plant. Free of charge replacements will normally be sent out during November and December.

2.Placing Orders. We accept orders from 1st April each year to 31st March the following year, for despatch between late October and March. Once ordered roses are reserved until the despatch season begins. Orders are sent out in strict numerical sequence, according to the date on which they are received. The earlier an order is placed the greater the likelihood that all varieties will be in stock and the earlier they will be sent out. Soon after ordering customers will receive an acknowledgement with an Order Number which should be quoted in all communications concerning the order.

3.Lifting and Despatch. The ‘Classic Roses’ we supply do not lend themselves readily to mechanisation, therefore much of our lifting is manual and the roses are treated with the utmost care. Our lifting season extends from the end of October until the end of March. We regret we are unable to notify customers, in advance, of despatch dates for their orders. Orders placed before the end of September will usually be despatched during late October and November. Orders placed during October and November will normally be despatched during December. Orders placed in December and January will be sent out during February and orders placed during February and March will be sent out during March. Orders placed during the second half of November could arrive just before Christmas, if this is inconvenient please make a note on your order form and we will hold back despatch until after the New Year. Please note that severe weather conditions can make lifting impossible and delays to the despatch schedule may occur. If you have any specific requests concerning the timing of your delivery, please let us know. It is not usually possible for us to bring forward delivery dates, but we can delay the despatch of your order from the normal run.

4.Substitutes and Held Over Roses. As we offer over 1300 varieties of roses, and they take 2 years to produce, it is not always possible to predict precisely how many of a particular variety will be sold during a season. From time to time, specific varieties will ‘sell out’ before the end of our lifting season. To cover this eventuality, we ask you to list the names of substitutes you would accept in place of any roses on your order which are out of stock. If you would like to discuss suitable substitutes please call us on 01953 454707. If you do not select substitutes, they will automatically be sent to you, unless we are instructed to hold over your original choice until the next season. Substitutes are selected by our experts as being the best alternatives available at the time. (See box on order form).

5.Carriage and Packing Charges. See current catalogue.

6.Payment Full payment is due when orders are placed, with the exception of collect orders where we require a 20% - non-refundable - deposit with order and the balance of the payment on collection. Acknowledgements will be issued shortly after orders are received. Cheques should be made payable to Peter Beales Roses. In the case of payment by debit or credit card, your account will be debited when your order is processed.

7.Prices Note: The prices on this web site are for bare root plants sent out between late October and March. Container roses for summer planting may be slightly more expensive and are available on our website at http://www.peterbealesroses.com/roses/container/ or over the phone on 01953 454707.

8.Collection. Roses can be collected between the end of October and the end of March. Having placed an order and paid a 20% deposit, please advise us of your intended collection date at least three clear working days before that date. This enables the nursery staff to lift and package orders and prepare the necessary paperwork. The balance 80% payment is due on collection and roses will not be released until full payment has been received.

9. Cancellations. Any order cancelled more than 14 days from date of receipt will be subject to a 10% cancellation charge.

10. Export Delivery Charges These are calculated as you compile your order on this site. Payment of Export Orders will only be accepted by way of Sterling Bank Transfer, MasterCard, Visa, Access or Switch. Payment is due when orders are placed and roses will not be despatched until full payment has been received.

12. E.U. Export Orders. There is free movement of roses throughout all E.U. member countries, with no import restrictions and no surcharges.

13. Export Outside E.U. Please contact us for Rootwashing and Administration charges Important Overseas customers should check with their Government Agricultural Department to see if an import permit is required, if so a copy of this should be sent with the order. Our Ministry of Agriculture Plant Inspectors are unable to release the plants without sight of these documents.

14.Excluded Countries. As a result of restrictive import regulations imposed we are not able to export our roses to Australia, New Zealand, South Africa or Norway.

15.Guarantee and non-availability of Exported Roses. We will honour our guarantee terms on any plants which fail to grow and will hold over roses for delivery the following season, but all costs viz. root washing, carriage, packing and statutory export charges will be applied to any replacements or hold over roses sent.
