Bought a Phillishave cordless shaver in January, use it about once a week on average, so say it's been used about 30 times.
While cleaning it yesterday part of the head fell off; hunted high and low for it, emptied the bin I was cleaning it over, found a couple of bits but I'm still missing one of the cutters, only place left to look is under the bed, and at may age with my back that's an immovable object. Searched for spares on line, only complete sets of 3 cutters and 3 foils available, cost between 75% and 80% of what I paid Amazon for the shaver new. So emailed Pillips. Quote:
I can understand their argument possibly for a shaver that has seen daily use for 2 or 3 years, but would have thought there would be some provision for accidents. Whatever happened to customer service?

Hi Mike,
There is no more sutch a thing called 'customer service'. Today you buy a product, use it and once it gives trouble you are expected to throw it away - no more repairs either! We had a similar problem with a rather new Phillips Shaver some time back (actually it was hubby’s shaver ) .As with yours the head fell apart and after having painstakingly found (we thought) all of them there was no way’s we could get it back together. There is no agency close to us. At the shop where I had bought the good thing I was greeted with shaking heads… sure mam we can send it off but it will take a few weeks to come back and than there is no guarantee that you will not be charged. Now let me ask you men: how many of you have spare shavers at home???? Hubby certainly does not have one and a few weeks without shaving – he would have looked like Capitan Ahab

grow a beard - the only sane answer - also familiar with the rubbish Phillips shavers - well, my son is, but you know what i mean, specially since I bought it for him-at considerable cost.

I am fed up with small electricals. I had an almost exact responce with a smiliar but different thing...an epilator. I am so fed up with things lasting such a short time i wonder whether to bother replacing it. Growing a beard is a culturally acceptable alternative for men at least!

for women too, once we hit 50 or so (especially if we can cultivate some large hairy moles and a nicely bulbous red nose (almost there myself).

I never really got on with electric razors and have wet shaved for years. I could never get any of my eletric razors to get anywhere as close a shave as with wet razors, especially with the expensive triple blades. Mind you as I'm retired it's now once a week usually on a Saturday ;-) Facial hair is very aging. I know, at times in the past I resembled Santa Claus

Similar here Paul, I use the electric to remove the "top layer" so the subsequent wet shave is a bit more comfortable.
Finally managed to get it back together minus one cutter, it does still manage that top layer, so will have to do.
