Just a little hello to you all from us here at Thorncroft Clematis Nursery.
Its been a while since we had any action here and it seems such a shame not to just pop in and keep you up to date with what we're doing.
Well there has been a lot going on behind the scenes with our new catalogue to prepare, this is now available for sale and will soon be available as a pdf download from our website. I'll keep you posted. Then there are the updates to the sales area. It is laid out the same but with quite a lot of plants being taken out of the collection and a lot of new ones added in, it does look quite different.
Mum and dad spent 3 weeks in Japan in November with friends and business associates which has been very productive for trade and also bringing new cultivars home for us to trial here at the nursery. We should see these creeping into production providing they are suitable for our climate over the next 3 to 5 years and will help keep us at the forefront of new introductions and gardening news.
Mum is busy rewriting her book ready for release early next year (spring 2011) which is going very well and I think secretly she is enjoying herself doing it but not letting on!
We have pruning demonstrations at the nursery again this spring and I will post separately the dates in a few minutes.
I think that is about it for the moment, but of course you are as always very welcome to get back to me here, if you have any questions about your plants plans or other!
Very best wishes from all at Thorncroft for a happy and healthy 2010.
Enjoy your gardens!
Peter, Ruth and Jon.

Hello Peter,
Thank you for keeping us updated about what's going on at Thorncroft nursery. My best wishes to you all for a good and prosperous 2010.
Just curious, how did your plans with roses for your own garden develop? If I remember correctly you last year mentioned putting up a fence of 20 meter or so in length and planting roses alongside.
greetings

Hello Hannes,
Yes I did get the fence finished but other things came up! I am afraid that we decided on getting more house work finished before spending the money in the garden. A sad decision to have to make but then there is always this summer...
My plans are still in place and the cultivars chosen, just time and finance to consider(and of course my Gillian's opinion too)!
I'll keep you posted on progress.
Best wishes
Peter
