Can you please tell me if such a variety exists? I tried Helpmefind with no luck, but wonder if you have heard of it.
Thankyou, Ravenna

Hi Ravenna, I'm not a clematis expert. The first place I check about clematis is Clematis on the Web. That is the best clematis database I have found. Helpmefind is great for roses. Clematis have been a bit neglected at HMF. Here is a link to the search page at COTW.
Clematis on the Web Search page
A search for Sonia came up with one clematis named Sonia. The others had Lawsoniana in their parentage. There are no photos of it.

Dear Ravenna,
Sorry for the long delay, but I have found out that there is a clematis with the name 'Sonia', however it does not seem to be in cultivation in this country.
The plant was raised by Brother S. Franczak in Poland and was never introduced to the market. This gentleman has recently died and was a very prolific clematis breeder, however many of the plants he named never have been propagated for sale.
Sorry but I don't think you will ever find it.
Peter
