Ladyburn is situated in the heart of Ayrshire's Burns Country and is therefore a very convenient base from which to explore this historic part of Scotland. The birthplace of Robert Burns is in Alloway as are the auld Brig o' Doon and the Burns Monument.

Set in a rural paradise of "the most beautiful valley in Ayrshire" in this most gentle and undiscovered part of Scotland on the edge of the magnificent estate of Kilkerran, Ladyburn is surrounded by mature wild and formal gardens and the most intriguing pattern of woods and fields.

The National Trust for Scotland's famous Culzean Castle and Country Park, Souter Johnnie's cottage in Kirkoswald, Crossraguel Abbey and the natural phenomenon known as the Croy Brae (Electric Brae) are close by. Slightly further afield are Loch Doon and Loch Trool in the Galloway Forest Park. Loch Lomond and the Trossachs are just over one hour away by car. Penkill Castle and Blairquhan Castle are open to the public at various times throughout the year.

The present owner of Kilkerran, Sir Charles Fergusson wishes to extend to the guests of Ladyburn an invitation to walk and enjoy the estate and its policies and perhaps to discover the last of a group of Silver Firs planted by Lord Kilkerran in 1707 to mark the Treaty of Union between Scotland and England.
