When is the best time to water roses?

Morning is the best time of day to water roses, so they don’t stand in cold water overnight which can damage a rose's health. Although, during long periods of very hot, dry weather it may be beneficial to water in the evening instead to ensure that sufficient water reaches the roots. Avoid watering during the middle of the day when water can quickly evaporate. It is also best to give a good soak around the base of the plant, instead of watering the foliage.
