Do I need to deadhead my roses?

It isn’t essential to deadhead roses, but a repeat flowering variety will definitely benefit from being regularly deadheaded as it will encourage the rose to produce more flowers. Deadheading once flowering varieties is less worthwhile, but can still be done to simply tidy up spent flowers. It is worth noting though that if left many varieties, especially once flowering roses, will go on to produce hips.
