My rose is being eaten by pests, what can I do?

Although pest damage can look unpleasant, it is highly unlikely that it will cause significant damage to your rose. If left alone nature will always restore balance and garden friendly predators will very quickly come in and keep the pests under control. However, if an infestation is severe then we would advise using a more environmentally conscious product. Horticultural soap works very well at controlling aphids, or simply squishing them with your fingers works equally as well, but is not very pleasant.

We would strongly advise against using any chemicals that can have lasting long-term damaging effects not only on the pests that you are trying to control but on other wildlife which can be affected by it getting into their food chain.
