Vigorous, evergreen shrub with long arching stems bearing spine tipped, dark green leaves. Profuse clusters of scented, deep yellow flowers in short racemes. April to May. Ht.3mt.(10ft.). Spherical glaucous blue-black berries after flowers. Grow in sun or part shade and moist, well-drained soil. Very good for hedging but also for shrubberies and coastal regions.
