Cytisus battandieri (Pineapple Broom)

Semi-evergreen open shrub or small tree, with silver-grey leaflets in 3's. Pineapple-scented golden, pea-like flowers in large upright cones. June and July. Ht.4mt.(15ft.). Hardy. Best in full sun against a wall with shelter from cold winds, andon light, well-drained soil. Also makes good specimen.
Piptanthus nepalensis (Evergreen Laburnum)

Semi-evergreen or deciduous, open, upright and tender shrub with leaves of three dark blue-green leaflets. Upright, terminal racemes of pea-like, vanilla-scented, bright yellow flowers emerge from hairy buds May and June. Ht.2.5mt.(8ft.). Pendant green seed pods form after flowers August to September. Best grown in full sun and well-drained soil. Grow against a warm wall and protect from cold winds.
