      Deciduous, upright, bushy shrub or small tree of open habit with deeply divided purple leaves. Tiny purple flowers in spring. Ht.4mt.(14ft.). Leaves turn bright red in autumn. Winged, purple fruit after flowers. Grow in sun or part shade and moist, well-drained soil with shelter from cold winds and midday sun. Good for borders, courtyards and containers.
