Evergreen tree with purple new growth turning to dull green leaves and smooth, white, grey or red-brown flaking bark. Large clusters of flowers. August to November. Ht.30m.(95ft.). Grow in sun and well-drained soil. Drought tolerant. Good specimen tree.

Rare plant as it bears small, green-purple, dioecious flowers, from purple-red buds, in the centre of leaves. April to May. Black fruits in autumn if both sexes grown. Grow in sun or shade in moist soil.
