Schisandra grandiflora var. rubriflora (Magnolia Vine)

Deciduous, twinning climber with dark green lanceolate leaves. Clusters of vivid, bright red flowers. March to April. Ht.10mt.(30ft.). Pendant clusters of scarlet fruit on female plants after flowers. Grow in sun or part shade and fertile, moist, well-drained soil with shelter from cold. Good for walls, fences or sheds.

Evergreen, rhizomatous perennial forming mounds of rounded, kidney-shaped, deep green leaves. Abundant spikes of bell-shaped, dark violet-blue flowers. March to May. Ht.25cm.(10in.). Grow in part to full shade and moist, well-drained soil. Good for woodland plantings, front of shady borders, rock gardens and peat beds.
