Low clumps of linear, deep green leaves. Impressive spikes of vibrant purple. July to September. Ht.90cm.(3ft.). Grow in sun and moist, well-drained soil. Good for mixed borders, cutting and bees and butterflies.

Evergreen, rhizomatous perennial forming mounds of rounded, kidney-shaped, deep green leaves. Abundant spikes of bell-shaped, dark violet-blue flowers. March to May. Ht.25cm.(10in.). Grow in part to full shade and moist, well-drained soil. Good for woodland plantings, front of shady borders, rock gardens and peat beds.
