Dipelta floribunda (Rosy Dipelta)

Strong, upright, deciduous shrub. Clusters of lightly fragrant, funnel-shaped flowers, pale pink with a yellow throat, appear from May to June. Ht. 4mt.(12ft.). Attractive flaking bark on mature bushes. Grow in full sun or partial shade on fertile, moist, well-drained soil. Best if sheltered from cold winds.

Evergreen, rhizomatous perennial forming mounds of rounded, kidney-shaped, deep green leaves. Abundant spikes of bell-shaped, dark violet-blue flowers. March to May. Ht.25cm.(10in.). Grow in part to full shade and moist, well-drained soil. Good for woodland plantings, front of shady borders, rock gardens and peat beds.
