Gelsemium sempervirens (Yellow Jessamine)

Evergreen, twining vine with glossy, lanceolate leaves. Very fragrant, yellow, trumpet-shaped flowers. February to April. Ht.6mt.(20ft.). Brown fruit after flowers. Fairly vigorous. Best grown in sun and moist, fertile, well-drained acid soil. Needs shelter from cold winds and severe cold. Good for walls, fences, pergolas etc. Very good for butterflies.

Rosettes of grey-green leaves. Tall spikes of saucer-shaped, bold, coppery-orange flowers. June to September. Ht.90cm.(3ft.). Sourced from the original clone. Best in full sun and well-drained, poorish, alkaline soil. Good for rose borders.
