    Spreading, dwarf, deciduous shrub bearing small, glossy, dark green leaves on regularly branched stems. Pink-tinged flowers during May. Ht.1mt.(3ft.). In autumn, leaves turn orange-red and red berries follow flowers. Bare stems give 'herringbone' pattern. Grow in full sun or part shade and well-drained, fairly fertile soil. Drought resistant. Good for ground cover, banks and walls.
