Ornithogalum nutans (Star-of-Bethlehem)

Bulbous perennial with strap-shaped leaves bearing a silvery central stripe. Erect stems carry one sided racemes of up to 15 nodding, bell-shaped, silvery-whitish-green flowers. Mid- to late spring. Ht.50cm.(20in.). Grow in sun or part shade and moist well-drained soil. Good for front of borders, underplanting shrubs and naturalising. Useful cut flower.
