Attractive upright spikes of lilac-blue flowers with an aniseed scent above dark green foliage. July to October. Ht.90-120cm.(3-4ft.). Full Sun. Average to moist soil. Attractive to butterflies. Good border plant. Good for cut flowers.

Semi-evergreen or deciduous, open, upright and tender shrub with leaves of three dark blue-green leaflets. Upright, terminal racemes of pea-like, vanilla-scented, bright yellow flowers emerge from hairy buds May and June. Ht.2.5mt.(8ft.). Pendant green seed pods form after flowers August to September. Best grown in full sun and well-drained soil. Grow against a warm wall and protect from cold winds.
