Penstemon Sour Grapes

Semi-evergreen clumps of lance-shaped, bright green leaves and elegant racemes of small, tubular, magenta-blue flowers with a metallic sheen. July to October. Ht.60cm.(2ft.). Grow in sun or part shade and fertile, moist, well-drained soil. Good for borders.

Semi-evergreen or deciduous, open, upright and tender shrub with leaves of three dark blue-green leaflets. Upright, terminal racemes of pea-like, vanilla-scented, bright yellow flowers emerge from hairy buds May and June. Ht.2.5mt.(8ft.). Pendant green seed pods form after flowers August to September. Best grown in full sun and well-drained soil. Grow against a warm wall and protect from cold winds.
