Leycesteria formosa Purple Rain (Himalayan Honeysuckle)

Large, arching, spreading, deciduous shrub. Purple and white flowers in large clusters are produced from summer to autumn. Ht.1.8mt.(6ft.). Shiny purplish-black berries after flowers. Grows in full sun or partial shade on moist, well-drained soil. Drought resistant. Good for back of borders or as a screen.
Piptanthus nepalensis (Evergreen Laburnum)

Semi-evergreen or deciduous, open, upright and tender shrub with leaves of three dark blue-green leaflets. Upright, terminal racemes of pea-like, vanilla-scented, bright yellow flowers emerge from hairy buds May and June. Ht.2.5mt.(8ft.). Pendant green seed pods form after flowers August to September. Best grown in full sun and well-drained soil. Grow against a warm wall and protect from cold winds.
