Piptanthus nepalensis (Evergreen Laburnum)

Semi-evergreen or deciduous, open, upright and tender shrub with leaves of three dark blue-green leaflets. Upright, terminal racemes of pea-like, vanilla-scented, bright yellow flowers emerge from hairy buds May and June. Ht.2.5mt.(8ft.). Pendant green seed pods form after flowers August to September. Best grown in full sun and well-drained soil. Grow against a warm wall and protect from cold winds.

A stunning perennial with early colour to brighten up shady areas. Rounded, silvery white leaves edged with green and small bell-shaped pale blue flowers. Prefers a rich, moist soil in full or part shade.
