Meconopsis 'Lingholm' (Himalayan Blue Poppy)

Broadly lance-shaped, dark green leaves. New ones and stems have rusty-brown hairs. Beautiful, rich blue flowers from June to July. Ht.100cm.(3ft.). Fertile form producing long, narrow seed pods. Grow in part shade and moist, fertile soil. More perennial and tolerant of slightly drier conditions than others. Good for damp, shady, corners.
Meconopsis betonicifolia (Himalayan Blue Poppy)
Rosettes of glaucous green, hairy, toothed leaves. Tall stems carry single, fragile, sky-blue flowers with golden stamens. May. Ht.75cm.(2.5ft.). Grow in sun or part shade and humus-rich, moist, well-drained, slightly acid soil. Good for woodland plantings.
Nandina domestica (Sacred Bamboo)
Evergreen or semi-evergreen, upright shrub with narrow, lance-shaped, dark green leaflets. Large panicles of small, star-shaped white flowers. July to August. Ht.2m.(6ft.). Leaves purplish-red when young and in autumn. Spherical, red fruits after flowers. grow in sun or part shade and well-drained soil with some shelter. Good for specimen plant or in border.
