Bulbous perennials with mainly two, semi-erect, strap-shaped basal leaves. Blooms mainly from late winter to mid-spring. Each bulb usually produces a single, pendant, pear-shaped white bloom with an arching flower stalk on a slender stem. Consists of three small inner tepals variably marked green, and three larger, spreading, outer tepals, sometimes scented. Mostly vigorous and good for naturalising in grass or light woodland, borders or rock gardens.
