Trollius
Clump forming, buttercup-like plants with many fibrous roots and basal rosettes of stalked, divided, palmate, toothed leaves that are mid-green and glossy.
Erect stems with a few stalkless leaves and solitary bowl-shaped yellow or orange-yellow flowers with numerous stamens from spring to summer. Best grown in full sun or partial shade and fertile, heavy, moist soil that doesn't dry out. Good for damp borders, bog gardens, pond or stream sides.
