Enkianthus

Mainly deciduous shrubs, occasionally trees, grown for their terminal umbels or corymb-like racemes of bell or urn-shaped flowers. 

These occur from mid-spring to early summer. Leaves are simple, lance to elliptic shaped, usually toothed and turn various shades of red in autumn. Best grown in full sun or partial shade and humus-rich, moist, well-drained acid to neutral soil. Good for woodland gardens or as a specimen.
