Rubus

Deciduous, semi-evergreen or evergreen shrubs and woody-stemmed deciduous climbers. Some species entirely grown for their edible fruit, otherwise for ornamental foliage, flowers or often prickly stems. Fully to frost hardy. Deciduous species with ornamental stems are best grown in full sun, otherwise varying levels of sun or shade. Semi-evergreens or evergreens cope with sun or shade. All best in fertile, well-drained soil.
