Climbing Roses

Climbing roses are ideal for growing against a wall of a house and often produce large shapely flowers. Unlike many ramblers, most climbers will also repeat flower, providing colour throughout the summer months. Smaller climbers can also be grown in pots making them great for patios and smaller gardens. We recommend planting Clematis alongside Climbing Roses to extend the flowering period. Also, by choosing colours that complement each other an otherwise dull and lifeless area can be transformed into an eye-catching focal point.

(Climbing Tea) Very scented, large fully double flowers of buff, amber and apricot, with tints of pink deep in the centre. The repeat flowering blooms when fully open are often quartered and are complemented with large dark green leaves. Said to be the first of the Tea roses. Probably a vigorous bush at introduction but better grown as a climber on a short wall, where it can enjoy protection from the severest weather of winter. Can be grown as a shrub with support. Bred by Adam.

(Modern Classic Climber) Unique to us in the UK. Large, very fragrant, almost fully double blooms of rich deep pink, bordering on carmine, borne in clusters. Continuous flowering but if not deadheaded, will produce huge, rich orange-red hips which hang on the plant well into winter. Growth is vigorous and dense. Foliage is large, dark and extremely healthy with purple new growth. Bred by Beales.
Introduced this rose at the request of Lady Smith as a present to Sir Paul Smith, the fashion designer.
