Shrub Roses

Rediscover the romance of roses with our collection of old and modern shrub roses. Many combine perfume, beautifully formed blooms and good health and are useful for a diverse range of situations. They are also generally easy to grow and will tolerate a wide variety of conditions and soil types. Shrub roses are perfect for growing individually in garden borders, planted in threes to give an even greater wow factor or planted en masse to create a truly sensational display. Some taller shrub roses can even be trained to grow as small climbers.

(Centifolia) 'Lettuce-leaved Rose'. Lovely double, pure soft pink flowers with a strong fragrance, with very large leaves (hence the name) and fewer thorns distinguishing this rose from others in the group. The leaves themselves are unique being loosely crinkly both in appearance and touch on a lax plant. Tolerant of poorer soils. Suitable for group planting in woodland. Almost identical to those of 'Rosa x Centifolia' as is its growth habit, except that the density of the foliage gives the overall appearance of a tidier plant. Of unknown origin dated around 1801.
